If you are noticing that either your chat bar within your toolbar is missing or that you do not have the ability to chat at all, this is indicative of one of the following things:
1) If you registered your Penguin account with the Ultimate Safe Chat option selected, you will be limited to sending safe chat and emote messages only. To resolve this, go to "Parental Controls" via your personal settings in-game. Then, enable the Standard Safe Chat option to be given the ability to send your own messages (as long as they adhere to the game's rules).
2) If you registered your Penguin account with the Complete Safe Chat option selected, you will not have the ability to chat or see other Penguins' messages at all. To resolve this, go to "Parental Controls" via your personal settings menu in-game. Then, you can toggle between which chat mode you want from there.
3) If none of the above apply to you, then it is likely the case that you were put on safe chat automatically by our automated moderation system or manually by Trust & Safety. This is done in cases where rule breaking occurs. Click here for more information regarding infractions.
Note: If you are receiving Error Code: SXFP-CHYK upon attempting to pull up the Parental Controls setting in-game, that means that our Account Management tools were unable to verify your identity in order to grant you permissions to make changes on your account and Penguin. To resolve this error, you will need to manually verify your identity with our Support Team by creating a request here.
