Two Step Login is an optional security feature that you can enable for your Penguin account. Although optional, we fully recommend all players enable Two Step Login for their Penguin account(s) as an added measure to keep your account secure.
Enabling this feature ensures that either the Penguin account owner or the parent/guardian of the account owner are able to access the account even in the case of a compromised password.
To enable Two Step Login, complete the following steps:
1) Navigate to your Penguin account's settings in-game by clicking the "?" button to the far-right of the toolbar.
2) Under "General Settings" scroll down to "Two Step Login" at the bottom. Click the button to the right of "Two Step Login" to enable the feature.
3) Using either your own mobile device or the mobile device of a parent/guardian, go to your device's respective App Store and download a reputable Authenticator application (e.g. Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy).
4) Open your respective Authenticator app and click the button to add an account (this button will differ depending on the app).
5) Click the option to "Scan QR Code". Then, scan the QR code displayed in-game using your mobile device's front-facing camera. To ensure the code is read correctly, adjust the QR code to the camera so that it is centered. This will automatically add your account to the Authenticator app.
6) The Authenticator app will display a 6-digit verification code. Type that code into the Two Step Login interface in-game (see picture below).
7) Click the "Verify" button underneath where you input your code. This will automatically log you out of your current session and force you to relogin to the game.
Once you successfully have Two Step Login setup, you will be prompted to enter your unique 6-digit verification code each time upon logging into Club Penguin Legacy. For this reason, do NOT delete your authenticator app while you have Two Step Login enabled as you will need access to it to be able to login to your Penguin account each time.
Note: If you no longer have access to the device in which you or your parent/guardian has enrolled Two Step Login, your Penguin account will be temporarily locked. To have your Penguin account unlocked, you will need to contact Support. Make sure to have your Support PIN available and be prepared to answer any relevant identification questions.
